• 27 şubat 1957 tarihinde doğan adrian frederick smith "dave murray" ile aynı mahallede oturuyordu ve iyi arkadaştılar zaten gitar çalmaya da dave teşvik etmişti ilk gitarı da dave'in sattığı woolworh's top 20 olmuştu.okuldan ayrılıp sütçülük ve marangozculuk yaptı."evil ways", "urchin" gruplarını kurdu sonra da dennis stratton'nun gruptan ayrılmasıyla "iron maiden" a dahil oldu.1981-88 yılları arasında 6 stüdyo bir de konser albümünde emeği geçti.solo kariyerine de start veren adrian "asap" grubunu kurdu ve daha sonra "iron maiden" ile yollarını ayırdı."psycho motel" ve "bruce dickinson" gruplarında yer aldı.1999 yılında tekrar "iron maiden"a döndü. the prisoner,22 acacia avenue, gangland, flight of icarus,die with your boots on,sun and steel, two minutes to midnight, wasted years,sea of madness,stranger in a strange land, moonchild,can i play with madness,the evil that men do, hooks in you,the wicker man,the fallen angel gibi şaheserlerin yaratılmasını sağlamıştır.attığı sololar daha çok bend ağırlıklıdır.
