• hiç sırası değilken söylemen münasebetsiz sözlere fransızcada “ mal a propos’ denilir. sheridan rakipler ( the rivals) oyununda mrs. malaprop karakterini yaratmıştır. bu kadının en önemli özelliği çetrefil sözcükler kullanmaya heveslenip bunları hep yanlış söylemesidir. karakter sayesinde “malapropism” ingiliz diline geçmiştir.
